Kristina Colacicco Faculty Research Assistant I am a coastal ecologist with research interests primarily in parasites and diseases of the Chesapeake Bay and oyster ecology. Previous work has also focused on keystone bay species response to multiple stressors, such as hypoxia & acidification as a result of climate change. I enjoy utilizing a range of molecular, laboratory, field, and computational tools to explore research interests. My current work is focused on the core microbiome of the Eastern oyster and improving our understanding of spatial variation of oyster microbiomes in the Chesapeake Bay.
Hannah Brunelle Graduate Student (MEES/ UMBC)
Chris Kim Undergraduate Researcher (UMBC) I am a senior at the University of Maryland Baltimore County pursuing research in marine biology and related science. I’m currently exploring the effect of bioeroders and microbiomes on the health of Eastern oysters. I’m also interested in evolutionary processes and adaptations of marine species as a result of climate change.
